Atomico leads Series A funding of Wrapp social gifting service
Wrapp, the new social gifting service, has received a round of Series A funding led by Atomico, the international venture capital firm formed by Niklas Zennström. Zennström will also be joining Wrapp's board of directors.
Wrapp is a social gifting service for celebrating friends' occasions with free and paid gifts from attractive brands. Wrapp allows friends to contribute to gifts, and makes it fun and easy to give, receive and redeem using mobile devices and the web. Founded in the first half of 2011 by a group of serial entrepreneurs, Wrapp is based in Stockholm, London and Silicon Valley.
Atomico is an international venture capital firm formed in 2006 by Niklas Zennström, entrepreneur and co-founder of Skype, Kazaa and other companies. The firm focuses on technology companies and has so far invested in more than 50 companies on four continents. Atomico is headquartered in London with offices in São Paulo and Beijing.
Atomico was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm's team was led by Niklas Bogefors, primarily assisted by Lucas Jonsson and Therese Jansson.
