Annual Report 2013

Mannheimer Swartling has been the leading business law firm in the Nordic region for many years. In 2013, we received proof that our position has become even stronger. One sign of this was that we were engaged for many of the largest assignments.

We were successful, even though the past year as a whole was characterised by stagnation in the transactional market. This trend changed towards the end of the year, and several signs indicate that 2014 will be a considerably more eventful year within M&A; more discussions are being held and more preparations are under way. There is a pent-up demand within a number of market segments. We are privileged in that we have an extensive team of experienced transactional lawyers, which allows us to deliver efficiently on some of the most challenging assignments, at a time when the market may turn very swiftly. The wide-ranging expertise within the firm also means that when there is a standstill in some parts of the market, the impact is counteracted by increased activity in other areas.

Our long-term perspective on our operations, our clients and our employees is one of our foremost guiding stars. The knowledge that we are there and that we are thinking ahead of any economic downturn or recession provides a sense of security and promotes long-term client relations.

The year gave us proof that we are working according to the right strategy. But we are not yet content. We aim to deliver the best possible advice, regardless of circumstances, timing or industry.
