Strålfors sells payment solutions operations

(2008-09-01)

Strålfors, a Posten subsidiary, has been advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the sale of its payment transaction business to the Danish company PBS. PBS develops and conducts operations pertaining to solutions for payment and information systems and is currently one of the leading suppliers of payment solutions.

The transaction entails that the business operations of the Strålfors Payment division relating to payment services will be taken over by PBS. PBS also takes over Posten’s well-established ePayment services, which manage Internet payments on the Swedish market, as well as customer contracts for the handling of card payments for store chains and banks. As a consequence of the acquisition, PBS is also initiating a strategic alliance with Posten relating to business development in the fields of long distance trading, payments and logistics.

Martin Ericsson was the partner responsible for the transaction and was assisted primarily by Karin Bergelin. Alexander Berger advised on the drafting of co-operation agreements. Karin Gustafsson advised on tax law issues, Per Josefson on intellectual property law issues, and Johan Carle and Stefan Perván Lindeborg, both assisted by Tomas Kjellgren, were responsible for the competition law issues. Magnus Wallander, assisted by Lena Wåglöf, was responsible for the employment law issues.
