Mannheimer Swartling has advised BAE Systems Hägglunds in Örnsköldsvik (Hägglunds) on the successful appeal of a decision made earlier this year by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) in a EUR 240 million public tender. The Stockholm County Administrative Court (Länsrätten) judged that the FMV had not complied with the Swedish Public Procurement Act. As a result, FMV’s public tender for delivering armoured modular vehicles to the Swedish Armed Forces will have to be restarted.
Hägglunds is part of BAE Systems, a leading global defence, security and aerospace company. With approximately 105,000 employees worldwide, BAE Systems' sales exceeded £18.5 billion in 2008.
Mannheimer Swartling’s team handling the matter was led by Johan Carle, together with Tomas Kjellgren and Sven Vaxenbäck.
