We practise German law at our offices in Frankfurt and Berlin, predominantly for Nordic and German clients in all fields of business law. The German offices currently employ some 40 lawyers. As an integrated part of the firm the German group’s work focuses mainly on complex transactions, both in the field of M&A, real estate, but also in litigation. Due to the long lasting relationship with many of our clients we also advise them efficiently in special legal issues of their business.
Your work at our German offices requires the formal qualification to be admitted as “Rechtsanwalt” in Germany. You should have an excellent academic record (underlined by “Prädikatsexamen” and/or other qualifications as e.g. “Dr.iur.” or a masters degree of a foreign university).
Your English language skills should be at a professional level. A working knowledge of Swedish or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but no requirement. An interest and understanding of Scandinavia, its culture and “way of living” helps certainly to understand the background of our clients better and facilitates your integration in the “climate” of our firm.
It is our policy, that all our German lawyers spend a few months internship at one of our Swedish offices, but also internships at other foreign offices are possible.
Since we have made the experience, that a good way for both – you and us – getting to know each other is the period of your legal clerkship (“Referendarzeit”), we certainly encourage you to apply for working with us in this period of your professional education.
