You want to enhance your skills? You would like to broaden your horizon and to be immersed in the Swedish culture and language? You want to study in Sweden? We would very much like to help you to enhance your skills! We therefore award a scholarship each year to a German law student wishing to study law in Sweden. The scholarship is worth EUR 3,000 (gross) for two terms of study, or EUR 1,500 (gross) for one term.
Qualifications
The scholarship is open to anyone who has completed at least half of their studies for a law degree in Germany, or who has recently graduated in law and wishes to complement with a Swedish Master’s degree.
If you have an excellent academic record, if you are dedicated above-average and if you are even involved in extraordinary projects besides your studies, you are more than welcome to apply for our scholarship. We expect applicants to have received or to expect to receive a Prädikatsexamen. Furthermore, you should appreciate and share Mannheimer Swartling’s values: expertise, team spirit and generosity.
Application
Does the above description apply to you? The next scholarship could be yours! Your application for the autumn term should be submitted by 15 June at the latest, or for the spring term no later than 31 October.
You should enclose a short CV, a study plan with budget, copies of certificates from your law studies as well as an academic reference with telephone number. There is no specific application form for the scholarship.
Applications may be submitted in Swedish, English or German, and should be sent to Mannheimer Swartling, Bockenheimer Landstraße 51-53, D-60325 Frankfurt am Main. Clearly mark your envelope “Scholarship”. You may as well submit your application by e-mail to scholarship@msa.se.
If you are interested in the scholarship, please feel free to contact either Alexander Foerster or Dr. Christina Griebeler in respect of any questions you may have.
Good to know
If necessary, the scholarship committee may request complementing information from an applicant. Since the scholarship is intended to part-finance studies and living expenses, the holder of a scholarship is obligated to report any other scholarships and grants received for the studies in Sweden.
The scholarship for two terms of study is paid in two parts: EUR 2,000 (gross) are paid as soon as you as a scholarship holder have shown that you have been admitted for the studies in question and that you have accepted the place. When half of the studies have been completed, you are expected to submit a short report to us, and subsequently the remaining EUR 1,000 (gross) will be paid.
For the holder of a one term-scholarship the same concept applies, but with a payment of EUR 1,000 (gross) on acceptance and EUR 500 (gross) upon completion of half of the studies. Upon full completion of your studies, we will ask you to write a more detailed report of the studies and your stay in Sweden.
The scholarships may not be awarded to employees of Mannheimer Swartling or to members of their families. However, the scholarship might be awarded to former interns or to former German Referendare.
